St. Patrick’s Day is just days away.
Whether you want to celebrate your Irish heritage, or you’re looking for an excuse to drink lots of Guinness, there are quite a few ways to celebrate around Pierce County.

This Irish pub in Tacoma will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day bash, which includes live music and food specials, like corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, and shepherd’s pie. O’Malley’s will also have extended hours on the 17th, opening at 9:30 a.m. and closing at 1:30 a.m.

Doors open at 5:45 a.m. at Doyle’s on St. Patrick’s Day. There will be a backyard tent filled with tailgate games, along with additional bars and seating. Two different sets of bagpipers are scheduled to perform throughout the day.

This family-friendly pub in Tacoma’s West End promises “shamrocks, shenanigans and specials” this St. Patrick’s Day, encouraging guests to wear green. Oddfellas will be serving corned beef and bacon-fried cabbage, which is only available one day a year. The meal comes with mashed potatoes, gravy and a steamed carrot.

You can find Irish grub like corned beef and cabbage and bangers and mash every day of the year at this pub in Puyallup, which will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all weekend long. The party officially kicks off at noon on Saturday, March 14 with the Puget Sound Firefighters Pipes and Drums. Festivities continue Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

This bar crawl through downtown Tacoma includes five venues and will take up most of your Saturday afternoon. The party starts at Steel Creek, then moves onto Odd Otter Brewing, Puget Sound Pizza, Rusty Goat and The Axe Academy. A ticket to the crawl gets you two to three drinks or shots, free cover at every bar, festive green beads and exclusive food and drink specials. Single tickets are $29, but if you buy four or more tickets at once the price drops to $24 a ticket. Tickets are available online.

For a more unique way to celebrate the holiday, Trapper’s Sushi Co. is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day drink tasting and sushi-making event in Enumclaw from 6 - 8 p.m. on March 17. Participants will sip on different drinks from Pursuit Brewing Co. and learn how to make their own sushi roll. Trapper’s Sushi also promises appetizers, desserts and green beers. Tickets are $72 and are available online.
