Here are 10 restaurants to check out this Mother’s Day around Pierce County

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, falling on May 10 this year.

There are quite a few spots around Pierce County to treat the moms in your life, whether you’re looking for a classic brunch buffet, a meal with a view or a seafood feast.

Here are 10 restaurants to check out this Mother’s Day.

This seafood restaurant along the Ruston waterfront will serve a special Mother’s Day menu from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bites include baked French toast with vanilla crème brûlée, a crab-and-artichoke frittata and a yogurt parfait. The regular menu will be available, with staples like clam chowder and lobster rolls.

The Cliff House

You can enjoy Mother’s Day with a view of Mount Rainier and Puget Sound at The Cliff House, which will offer a special Mother’s Day menu from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Starters include bacon-wrapped scallops and a caramelized pear and goat cheese crostini, while entrées include Maine lobster tails, prime rib and truffle mushroom ravioli.

Duke’s will offer Mother’s Day brunch at each of locations across the sound, including Tacoma. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., guests can enjoy eggs Benedict with lobster, crab or shrimp, brioche French toast and a veggie scramble with asparagus, spinach and pesto. There’s also the “Margarita for Mom,” with Agave Azul Blanco tequila, raspberry purée, homemade sour, basil and lemon. Reservations are strongly encouraged, and can be made online.

Charlie’s Restaurant & Lounge

Charlie’s will run a Mother’s Day brunch buffet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dishes include prime rib, scrambled eggs, Belgian waffles, eggs benedict, glazed ham, seafood and more. Prices are $50 per person for adults, $40 for seniors (63 and up), and $20 for kids 12 and under. Plus, you can add bottomless mimosas for $12. Reservations are required, and can be made by phone.

Stanley and Seafort’s

This upscale restaurant with panoramic views of the water and the Tacoma skyline will offer a prix fixe menu this Mother’s Day for $63 a person. Dishes include lobster bisque, almond-crusted sea scallops, filet mignon and black cod. Featured Mother’s Day cocktails include Berry Loved with gin, passion fruit, grenadine and lemon, and Fresh Picked Love with grapefruit and rose vodka, limoncello and strawberry rose syrup.

Woven Seafood and Chophouse

This waterfront restaurant from the Puyallup Tribe will serve a Mother’s Day buffet with different seating times at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The buffet will include sushi, a build-your-own poke station, a carving station with braised beef short ribs and kalua pig, plus a mini waffle and pancake bar. Adults pay $110 per person, while kids $12 and under pay $35. You can reserve your spot online.

The Melting Pot

This fondue restaurant will offer a four-course dinner all Mother’s Day weekend, on May 9 and 10. The meal starts at $79 a person, and comes with cheese fondue, salad, an entrée and chocolate fondue. Options include brie and fig or bacon cheese fondue, steak, salmon, and roasted shrimp and French toast chocolate fondue. Reservations are encouraged, and can be made by phone or online.

Le Sel Bistro

This intimate French bistro in the Stadium District is a popular spot for brunch any day of the week. Dishes include Warm Brie with raspberry jam, banana French toast, avocado and smoked salmon eggs benedict, plus lots of different omelets and breakfast sandwiches. Since the space itself is quite small, reservations are highly recommended, and can be made by phone or online.

This family-friendly restaurant in Gig Harbor brought back its weekend brunch offerings just last month. The brunch menu includes avocado toast, chicken and waffles, a breakfast smash burger, smoked salmon eggs benedict. Reservations are highly recommended, and can be made online.

WildFin American Grill

This seafood restaurant at Point Ruston will serve its regular lunch menu for Mother’s Day. Dishes include Spicy Ahi Crispy Rice, Northwest Seafood Chowder, Miso Black Cod and Prawn Scampi. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made by phone or online.
