Sometimes, you just need a cookie. It’s a perfect sweet treat for any time of day.

Whether you’re looking for a gooey, warm chocolate chip cookie, or one with ingredients like matcha and Basque cheesecake cream, these 13 spots in and around Tacoma might just be what you’re looking for.

Cove’s Bakery

Cove’s Cookies, a farmer’s market favorite, soon will become Cove’s Bakery on St. Helens Ave. The bakery is set to open in late summer 2026. Cookies on the menu include the classic brown butter chocolate chip, along with strawberry shortcake, Biscoff, blueberry cobbler and raspberry white chocolate.

Corina Bakery

Along with its wide selection of cakes and pies, Corina bakery offers a few different cookies, with vegan and gluten-free options available. Flavors include chocolate chip, peanut butterscotch, oatmeal raisin, gluten-free and vegan chocolate chip, and a gluten-free and vegan Corina Wedding Cookie.

This regional grocery store chain is known for “The Cookie.” It’s a chocolate chip cookie made with Belgian chocolate chips and toasted walnuts, and it’s so dense it could be considered a meal. It’s good for those who want more chocolate than cookie — almost half of the cookie’s total weight is in chocolate, according to the Met Market website. The bakery makes a sizable peanut butter cookie as well.

Love by the Slice

This cake shop and cafe in Hilltop offers classic cookie flavors like chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter and snickerdoodle.

Wren’s Nest Baking Co.

Everything is gluten-free at this bakery in Ruston. Cookie flavors include a vegan chocolate chip, chocolate crinkle (aka double chocolate), snickerdoodle and peanut butter. Wren’s nest will occasionally have molasses cookies as well.

Balloon Roof Baking Co.

Balloon Roof’s Sixth Avenue storefront is only about two months old, but it’s proved to be quite popular so far. Along with sourdough loaves, bagels and focaccia, Balloon Roof serves up a chocolate chip Maldon sea salt cookie and a ginger molasses cookie.

Girl Loves Cake

Girl Loves Cake doesn’t make your run-of-the-mill chocolate chip cookie, but instead specializes in the art of the macaron. Note that this made-to-order bakery is pickup only but also pops up at local markets. Flavors are rotating — this month’s selections include churro, coconut lime, cherry lemonade and brown butter rhubarb.

Three Hearts Bakery

This bakery and cafe in Hilltop serves up some creative breakfast and lunch sandwiches, but also offers quite a variety of sweet treats. Cookie flavors include gluten-free chocolate chip, gluten-free “Monster,” ginger molasses, white chocolate macadamia nut and matcha black sesame shortbread.

Spilled Butter Desserts

You might’ve already had a few Spilled Butter treats without knowing it, since the micro scratch bakery supplies its goodies to different cafes around Tacoma. You can also order directly from Spilled Butter, but note that its address is not a retail storefront and is for pickup orders only. Cookie creations include sugar cookies, lemon pistachio cake cookies, chai orange cookies and oatmeal “Nutter Butters.”

BAS-QUE

This walk-up window bakery specializes in its namesake Basque cheesecake, which it also turned into a cookie. The Basque Cheesecake Chocolate Chip cookie is made with basque cream, malt and hojicha (Japanese green tea).

Maggie Magee’s Bake Shop

This bakery in Fircrest offers custom cookies and cookie classes, as well as a rotating menu of in-store goodies. Flavors include classics like chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and ginger molasses, and more inventive flavors like strawberry lemonade and ube coconut. There’s also always vegan and gluten-free options available.

Susanne’s Bakery

This Gig Harbor bakery has a variety of cookies, including chocolate chip with sea salt, molasses, oatmeal raisin, a vegan oatmeal chocolate chip with nuts, peanut butter and peanut butter chocolate, along with iced sugar cookies and coconut macarons.

Chai Pyala

This Indian chai bakery and cafe offers “deep-dish” cookies, along with a variety of traditional Indian desserts. Cookie flavors include masala chocolate chip, M&M and Pistachio Indulgence with cream cheese and white chocolate.

Lobo Bakery

This bakery doesn’t have a storefront, but does show up at lots of local farmers markets, including the Proctor and Puyallup farmers markets, and the Haunted Farmers Market in South Tacoma. Lobo also supplies its treats to Third Space Cafe and Naomi Joe Coffee Roasters in Tacoma. Along with its popular croissants, Lobo also sells classic chocolate chip cookies.
