From seafood to steakhouses, here’s where to celebrate Father’s Day in Tacoma

It’s almost Father’s Day, and many local restaurants are doing it up for dad this year.

There’s something for everyone, whether the family is looking for a special brunch, a seafood dinner or a classic steakhouse experience.

Here are eight restaurants to check out this Father’s Day.

Duke’s Seafood

Duke’s will offer a special brunch this Father’s Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dishes include French toast, filet mignon and Crabby Eggs Bene “Duke” with Dungeness crab, along with the special “Dad’s Duketail” Hugo Spritz. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made online.

Stanley & Seafort’s

This restaurant with views of the Tacoma skyline and the harbor is offering a special Father’s Day menu. The three-course meal goes for $62, with starters like New England clam chowder and lobster bisque, entrées like prime rib and black cod, and desserts like cheesecake and key lime pie. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online. Stanley and Seafort’s is also offering to-go packs with either a prime rib or a salmon option. Orders for to-go packs must be placed by Wednesday, June 17.

The Melting Pot

The Melting Pot will offer three- and four-course fondue dinners this Father’s Day ($75 and $65 a person, respectively), plus some other deals. Four-course dinners include cheese and chocolate fondue, salad and entrées, where you pick from meats like garlic pepper steak, shrimp, Memphis dry rub pork and petite filet. For drinks, pints from the newly re-opened Redd Dog Brewing Co. will be $5 all day. Plus, each dad is sent home with a Father’s Day swag bag while supplies last. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made online.

Lobster Shop

Lobster Shop will offer prime rib along with its regular menu this Father’s Day. If prime rib isn’t your thing, you can order dishes like crab cakes, Pacific rockfish, pork chops or lobster mac and cheese. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online.

This Gig Harbor restaurant will serve brunch plus a prime rib dinner special this Father’s Day. Brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and features dishes like a breakfast smash burger, avocado toast, cheddar biscuits and gravy and waffle stacks. The prime rib dinner special starts at 5 p.m. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made online.

If dad wants steak, you could try El Gaucho, which will be open two hours earlier than normal on Father’s Day (special hours are 2 to 9 p.m.). You’ll find all the steak house classics on the menu, along with a table-side flaming sword of tenderloin and New York steak. Other dishes include Alaskan king crab, lobster mashed potatoes and table-side Muscovy duck breast. Reservations are encouraged, and can be made online.

Texas de Brazil

This Brazilian steakhouse at the Tacoma Mall will open early at 11 a.m. for Father’s Day. All meats are cooked over an open flame, including filet mignon, barbecued pork ribs, picanha, flank steak and parmesan pork loin. Sides include Brazilian cheese bread, fried bananas and lobster bisque.

This seafood restaurant overlooking the Narrows Marina will open half an hour earlier on Father’s Day at 11 a.m. Bites include fried pickles, wild salmon salad, a prime rib dip sandwich and fish and chips.
