Water-damaged Maxwell’s reopens Friday in Tacoma
Maxwell’s Speakeasy and Restaurant will reopen Friday, nearly two months after water damage shuttered the St. Helens neighborhood eatery.
Not only will it reopen with new carpet, but it also has a new chef. Beti Tarantino, who purchased Maxwell’s in April, has hired Andre “Dre” Neeley to lead the kitchen (a role formerly held by Hudson Slater, who now is at Marrow). Neeley previously was chef de cuisine at Seattle’s Cafe Presse, a French cafe near Seattle University.
