Temporary closures: Steamer’s, De La Terre and Granola’s plan to reopen
I’ve reported about a few surprising closures since early December (including Masa and Hilltop Kitchen). Readers have asked about a few more recent restaurant closures and I’m happy to report that the following restaurant closures are only temporary.
Steilacoom’s De La Terre, which I named as one of my top three restaurant openings of 2015, is on a short hiatus through Jan. 21. Chef-owner Blake Lord-Wittig is currently traveling through Asia. Find more details about the restaurant at restaurantdelaterre.com.
Steamer’s Seafood Cafe at Tacoma’s Titlow Beach closed in early December following water damage inside. The restaurant says it will reopen, but must first replace flooring and complete other projects. For updates, go to facebook.com/SteamersSeafoodCafe.
Granola’s, the frozen yogurt cafe, permanently closed its downtown Tacoma location and has turned its University Place frozen yogurt stop into a seasonal operation that will return in March. Owner Karen Williams said via email, “More than likely the season will be March-November. Our last day this season was the day before Thanksgiving.” Find updates at granolasfrozenyogurt.com.
