Tacoma Wine Merchants has moved — but just next door. Owner Bill Bonnie closed his small cafe, Enoteca, and moved his wine shop into that space.

That means the menu at Enoteca is gone, but on the plus side, there are as many bottles of wine as there were in the next-door space.

“I still have the same amount of inventory as the bigger space, but due to space limitations I don’t have the refrigeration space necessary to keep the cheese plate aspect of things, so that was the sacrifice,” said Bonnie via message.

“It actually looks better and feels more like a wine shop now.”

Bonnie said he’ll continue offering tastings noon-5 p.m. every Saturday. He’s currently working on a licensing change so the days might be limited when anyone under the age of 21 can enter the shop.

One service he’ll continue is his monthly themed wine tastings, a $40 tour of a specific wine theme. Reservations are necessary for those tastings. To find out the theme for each month’s tasting, sign up for Bonnie’s email newsletter. No tasting in March. The next tasting is April 30.
