Hop Jack’s restaurants coming to Gig Harbor, Lakewood

A regional restaurant chain known for its frosty beer and icy cocktails will open two South Sound locations in 2017.

Hop Jack’s, which first opened in Bonney Lake in 2009, will open its Gig Harbor restaurant at 5500 Point Fosdick Drive NW. In Lakewood, a Hop Jack’s will open at Lakewood Towne Center.

The Gig Harbor location will be inside the new Fred Meyer center and is expected to open in February 2017. The Lakewood location will be built in a new building near Barnes and Noble and is expected to open around May 2017.

Both locations are expected to be 4,500 square feet and will come with outdoor seating for up to 40.

Owner Mark Eggen comes with a long history with local restaurants. Besides the Hop Jack’s restaurants, he was an executive in franchising for Red Robin and previously worked at Restaurants Unlimited. Since the 2009 opening of the Bonney Lake Hop Jack’s, 11 locations have opened from Lakeland Hills to Spokane.

Hop Jack’s lunch and dinner menu features burgers and sandwiches ($9.95-$15.25), with a few heartier entrees, such as fish tacos and flat iron steak ($14.25-$14.95). Weekend breakfasts include skillets, omelets and breakfast burritos ($10.50-$11.75).
