One dead, one under arrest following Tuesday night crash on Route 510 near Lacey
A motorcyclist is dead and a driver is under arrest following a crash east of Lacey, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash happened about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 510 at Rockcress Drive Southeast. State Patrol says a Mazda sedan was eastbound on Route 510 and turning left onto Rockcress Drive when it struck the motorcyclist heading west on Route 510.
The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old man from Olympia, died. His name was not immediately released.
The Mazda driver, a 36-year-old man from Lacey, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and reckless endangerment. Inside the Mazda were three children ages 11, 8 and 1. The 8-year-old was injured and taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital.
Drugs or alcohol may have been involved in the crash, according to State Patrol.
Route 510 was blocked from Marvin Road Southeast to Old Pacific Highway Southeast for three and a half hours.
