▪ Forest Hayes has been promoted to senior vice president and chief risk officer at Harborstone Credit Union in Tacoma. He is responsible for enterprise risk management and also serves as the primary management liaison to the Supervisory Committee. He oversees internal audit, compliance, and serves on a number of the credit union's committees. Hayes earned an MBA from the University of Hartford at the Barney School of Business and bachelor’s degree from Sonoma State University.
PCS Structural Solutions in Tacoma has announced several staff changes and promotions.
▪ Kirk Keppler has been promoted from an associate to senior associate, and as all senior associates, serves as subject matter experts on specific aspects of business development, analysis and training, in addition to absorbing some principal responsibilities. He received a bachelor’s degree from Montana Tech and a master’s degree at Oregon State University. With 21 years working with PCS, Keppler is currently working on the Emerald Queen Casinon on I-5 and Foster High School in Tukwila.
▪ Wes Neeley has also been promoted from an associate to senior associate at the firm. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural emphasis, and has been with the firm for 17 years. He is currently working on several K-12 projects, including the Webster School for Seattle Public Schools; Emerald Hills Elementary and Tehaleh Elementary for Sumner School District; and Centennial Elementary, McLane Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary for Olympia School District.
▪ Dan Tappel, in the Tacoma office, was promoted from project manager to an associate. His professional responsibilities include structural engineering on various industrial, civic, commercial, and educational projects, and an increased leadership role in the firm. He is currently working on Madison Elementary School in Mount Vernon, APA Tacoma Lab Expansion and the Olympia Courtyard Hotel Detention Vaults. Tappel received a bachelor’s degree from Washington State University and has worked in the industry for more than 8 years.
▪ Abigail Messegee was recently promoted from design engineer to project engineer. Her professional responsibilities include structural engineering on the firm's educational, civic, and commercial projects and is currently working on Tehaleh Heights Elementary School, Emerald Hills Elementary School in Bonney Lake, and Washington High School in Tacoma. Messegee received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho and has been with the firm for more than two years.
▪ Evan Olszko was also promoted from design engineer to project engineer. His current projects include Skyview Middle School and Canyon Creek Elementary School in Woodinville, Grant Center for the Expressive Arts in Tacoma and South Sound Behavioral Health in Lacey. Olszko received a bachelor’s degree from Washington State University and has been with PCS for more than two years.
▪ Tanner Reijm has been promoted from design engineer to project engineer. He is working on the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife, Foster High School in Tukwila and Birney Elementary School in Tacoma. Reijm received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Washington State University and has been with the firm for more than two years.
▪ Jon Thorpe also joins the ranks as a project engineer being promoted from a design engineer. He is currently working on the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife, in addition to Stanwood High School and Puyallup's new Southwest Elementary School. Thorpe received a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University and has been with PCS for more than two years.
Tacoma #8 Rotary recently named new officers for the 2018-2019 Rotary year. They are: Linda Kaye Briggs, The Briggs Group, president; Carol Duris, Timberland Bank, president elect; Cindy Niemi, Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation, secretary; Jeremy Fogelquist, Johnson Stone and Pagano, treasurer and Kathi Willis continues as club administrator.
