Tacoma gas price down a penny to average $3.19; Gig Harbor at $3.59

According to tacomagasprices.com, bargain shoppers on Monday (July 13) were finding the cheapest gasoline in Pierce County — $2.93 per gallon — at either a Costco store on South 37th Street near Tacoma Mall or at an Arco outlet on South Orchard Street near University Place.
The highest price recorded Monday morning — $3.59 per gallon — was noted at a pair of Shell stations in the Gig Harbor area, the pricing service stated.
The average retail price of gasoline Tacoma has fallen 1 cent per gallon over the past week, settling at $3.19 on Sunday (July 12), according to GasBuddy.com’s daily survey of 271 gas outlets in the area.
This price compares with the national average that neither rose nor fell over the week, resting at $2.76 per gallon.
Including the change in gas prices in Tacoma during the past week, Sunday’s price was 79 cents per gallon lower than on the same day one year ago, and 8.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has decreased 3.9 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 85 cents per gallon lower than one year ago.
Nationwide, Indiana recorded the largest decline in prices last week, down 13.1 cents per gallon. California drivers suffered the greatest increase, with a gallon of regular-grade gasoline up 28 cents.
