Well-known salon bids farewell to Tacoma Mall. Here are details about its new location
Gene Juarez Salon and Spa is now open in downtown Tacoma.
The location, 915 Pacific Ave., opened Tuesday (Feb. 21) and replaces the salon’s former location in the Tacoma Mall.
The mall salon’s last day of operation was Sunday (Feb. 19), according to Katie Trent, CEO of Gene Juarez Salons and Spas and Gene Juarez Academy.
The Pacific Avenue location is the former home of fitness center Super Studios 253, which now operates remotely.
Trent confirmed plans for the salon’s move in January.
The salon is open 7 days a week, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. It offers haircuts and styling, color and perms/straightening services, skin care, waxing, ash and brow services and premium retail products.
The site has 14 salon chairs and five skin-care treatment rooms, according to Trent.
“Our team includes 34 service professionals, all of whom moved over from the mall salon,” Trent said Tuesday via email.
