SOUTH SOUND BUSINESS PEOPLE
▪ Rebecca Martin, president and CEO of Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce, will serve as a class adviser at the Institute for Organization Management at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. The institute is a weeklong nonprofit leadership training program and the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Each adviser is an institute graduate selected by the Board of Regents to serve as an on-site resource for participants.
▪ David Schultz has been named market president for the Peninsula Region of CHI Franciscan Health. He will oversee operations and services at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton and Silverdale, as well as St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor. He received a master’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Previously he was executive vice president and chief operating officer at Overlake Medical Center.
▪ Tacoma Community College has recently hired Clay Krauss as director of information technology. He will provide direction and leadership for the department, which includes media services, print shop, mail services and communication services. Krauss received a bachelor’s degree from University of Puget Sound and a MBA from University of Washington Tacoma.
▪ The Pierce County Council recently appointed Monica Butler as a member of the Pierce County Library System Board of Trustees. She will serve a five-year term. Butler retired as the retirement director for Tacoma Employees’ Retirement System and her past work includes 26 years with Russell Investments in various positions. She received an MBA from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
