New 7-story apartment site now leasing in Tacoma’s Stadium District. Here are details
A Tacoma apartment project in the Stadium District area that was granted an 8-year tax exemption from the city is now leasing.
23 Broadway Apartments, 23 N. Broadway, is three blocks from the new Stadium District Light Rail Station and near Wright Park.
23 Broadway was developed by Mayer Built Homes, built by Rush Commercial, designed by Weinstein A+U and operated by Reeder Management.
The 7-story building includes 53 one-bedroom apartments, which feature in-unit washers and dryers, quartz countertops and private patios. Amenities include onsite parking and EV-charging stations along with bike storage and fitness studio, as well as lounges both inside and out and a rooftop terrace. The lobby includes a co-working space.
“Leasing is underway, and the excitement over the exceptional views, contemporary unit layouts, and prime location grows with every tour,” Joe Mayer, president of Mayer Built Homes, said in a news release announcing the site’s leasing debut. “We can’t wait to welcome our first residents and see this community thrive.”
Mayer is tied to other properties in the city. An LLC affiliated with Mayer in October purchased the former longtime home of The Harvester restaurant in Tacoma, 15-29 N. Tacoma Ave.
The Broadway apartment project gained an 8-year multifamily property tax exemption in 2022, along with another Mayer-affiliated project at 444 St. Helens Ave., which is in permitting, according to records on file.
The 8-year MFTE does not include any rent restrictions, allowing for all market-rate units. Rents at the Broadway site range from just under $1,700 to more than $2,500.
