Habitat for Humanity opens retail store in Lakewood
Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity has opened a second retail store, the organization announced Monday.
The “Home Store” is in the Lakewood Towne Center, 6030 Main St. SW, Suite A. It joins the “Everything Store” at 4824 South Tacoma Way.
The Lakewood store will offer decor, antiques, furniture and new appliances. It won’t sell tools, building supplies or light fixtures — those still can be found only at the South Tacoma Way location. Donations of gently used home goods and building materials will be accepted at the second store, according to a news release.
The revenue from both stores will provide a source of income for the nonprofit organization, which builds and repairs homes in partnership with low-income families. Manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals donate new and gently used home improvement items to the Habitat Store, according to a release, which are either used in Habitat construction projects or sold to the public at a reduced price.
Both Habitat Stores operate Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
