Tacoma coworking business expanding with space at second property located downtown
A Tacoma coworking business that debuted last year has expanded its offerings.
UrbanWork has added a 23,000-square-foot space at the Tacoma Centre, 1135 Broadway, in downtown, set for a grand opening in May.
The business initially entered the Tacoma market with its Rhodes Center redevelopment, 950 Broadway.
UrbanWork now is partnering with MJR Development to open its new Tacoma Centre coworking space, with Kidder Matthews-Frame Team overseeing leasing.
The News Tribune in 2023 first profiled MJR Development’s work at the office tower.
“This expansion marks a significant milestone for UrbanWork as it continues to broaden its footprint and serve entrepreneurs, small businesses, and enterprise teams in the Pacific Northwest,” UrbanWork said in its release.
Tacoma Centre features 11,000 square feet of coworking space on the second floor. On the sixth floor, UrbanWork has developed 12,127 square feet of office suites “for larger teams with turnkey, move-in ready workspaces, dedicated conference rooms, and an expansive pantry and common area,” it stated.
“Our mission has always been to empower businesses with the workspaces and resources they need to succeed,” said Reid Fetters, founder and owner of UrbanWork. “We are planting a flag in downtown Tacoma and declaring that Tacoma is open for business.”
The News Tribune leases space with UrbanWork for operations in Tacoma.
