And Santa is already in residency for photos at both.

At Tacoma Mall, Shake Shack and Lovesac both opened this month.

A media representative for the mall told The News Tribune in response to questions that Dave’s Hot Chicken is now expected to open at the Village in December. No further details were available, and the chicken chain did not respond to a request for comment.

Still to come: Supreme Dumplings, Simply Thai Restaurant, Gong Cha Bubble Tea and Happy Lamb Hot Pot.

Other recent Tacoma Mall openings in the main building include Garage clothing retailer and Perfumania, both of which opened in October.

The mall will open at 6 a.m. for Black Friday sales.

South Hill Mall update

Puyallup’s South Hill Mall recently saw the opening of Pierce County’s newest Barnes & Noble.

It also saw the addition of Discount Collection in the former Macy’s space this past summer.

Now, two new food-court vendors are set to arrive “late winter or early spring of next year,” according to Joe Bell, media representative for the mall.

According to Bell, “The first is Cluck and Stack, which will specialize in chicken and burgers. The other new eatery is 5 Rivers Café. Its specialty will be coffee and pastries, along with grab-and-go salads and sandwiches.”

Still to come: Hong Kong Market along 94th Avenue East near Red Robin. Its opening is anticipated for next summer.

As for Black Friday, the mall opens at 6 a.m., with a DJ providing music for the season. The Washington State Fair mascot will be on hand to greet people from 1-3 p.m.

The first 200 people in line when the mall doors open get gift bags filled with discounts and a chance to win prizes. Each bag will contain a chocolate bar with a number on the wrapper. Redeem that candy bar at the Customer Service Center for a gift card. The top prize is a $500 South Hill Mall Gift Card. Participants must be at least 18 years old and may be asked to show ID. One chocolate bar per customer, while supplies last. Candy bars must be redeemed by Dec. 31.

Santa also has set up shop at the mall for photos through Dec. 24 and for special events (by reservation), including:

  • School Colors Night, 4-8 p.m. Dec. 8
  • Santa Paws, 4-8 p.m., Dec. 2 and Dec. 9
  • Pajama Night Dec. 4 and Dec. 11, family portraits with Santa
  • Caring Santa 11 a.m. to noon. Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 for children with special needs.

More information on the events and online reservations available.
