Soccer retailer opening its first Washington state store in Tacoma

Just in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup games in Seattle, an Oregon soccer gear chain is set to open its first Washington state store in Tacoma.

The sign is up at the new Tursi Soccer store site, 3802 S. Cedar St. Suite A., though the store remained empty as of May 1, The News Tribune observed in a visit to the location.

The store is in a shopping center at South 38th and South Cedar streets.

Trevor Frank is the Tacoma store owner and lives in University Place. Frank told The News Tribune via email, “We are very excited to bring Tursi Soccer to Washington.”

Other Tursi Soccer locations include Boise, Idaho; Eugene, Oregon; and three in the greater Portland, Oregon, area. The retailer is celebrating its 40th anniversary in business this year.

According to Tursi’s website, it’s currently “outfitting clubs in Oregon, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming, Washington, Idaho and Alaska as well as numerous high schools and colleges … .”

“We feel this is an underserved market with a huge amount of soccer players and fans,” Frank said via email about the new Tacoma site. “We are in the middle of building out the space, shooting for an early June opening, depending on the City of Tacoma and permits.”

A tenant-improvement application for interior alterations at the store was filed at the end of April with the City of Tacoma.

According to information provided by Frank, the store will offer a full range of soccer equipment, including footwear, apparel, fan gear, team uniforms and training equipment, along with personalized fitting services.

The Tacoma location plans to support local teams through customized uniform packages, streamlined ordering for clubs and dedicated service to coaches and organizations. “We’re thrilled to become part of the Tacoma community,” said Frank. “With the excitement surrounding the World Cup, there’s never been a better time to be part of the soccer community.” Tursi Soccer plans to set up an Instagram feed for updates on the Washington store as well as a new website, both coming soon.
