If you drive I-5 in Tacoma, you know this hotel. It’s been sold for millions
A hotel just off Interstate 5 near Emerald Queen Casino and Hotel in Tacoma has new owners.
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham, 1425 E. 27th St., Tacoma, was sold to three LLCs representing Pierce and King County-area lodging investors for $14.5 million. According to documents filed with Pierce County, a $2 million personal property deduction for the existing hotel furnishings/equipment reduced the amount to a taxable sale price of $12.5 million.
The seller was HSR Hotel Group LLC, which listed a California mailing address in the county filings. HSR purchased the site in March 2023 for $18.16 million after a personal property deduction from the overall sale price of $19 million at the time, according to county records.
The seven story, 155-room hotel dates to 1985 and is at the intersection of Portland Avenue East and East 27th Street. The property has an assessed value of just over $13 million, according to its county assessor-treasurer property record online.
Parveen Quinones is registered agent with Federal Way Motor Inn LLC, one of the hotel’s new owner-LLCs. In a response to questions from The News Tribune, Quinones said via email, “We plan to keep the brand ... we have plans to give the property a facelift and in the near future upgrade the guest rooms.”
Quinones added, “This will not be overnight, our goal is in the near future.”
The other two LLCs listed in the sale include SB Seatac LLC and Kaur & Kaur LLC.
