Forklift rodeo, pole rescue and more coming to Tacoma
If you’ve never seen a rodeo where the riders ride forklifts, or if you’ve never seen a rescue conducted at the top of a tall pole, now’s your chance.
The State Department of Labor & Industries will conduct the 64th annual Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Conference on Oct. 7 and 8 at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center.
The event, according to an L&I release this week, “is geared toward workers, employers and safety and health professionals,” and it will offer “leading industry experts to deliver cutting-edge education, examples of best practices, demonstrations and networking opportunities.”
Along with the forklift rodeo and pole-rescue demonstrations, featured events and activities include workshops, displays and demonstrations by 80 exhibitors and vendors, and an electrical high-voltage demonstration. The 2015 Governor’s Lifesaving Awards will be presented during a conference luncheon Oct. 8.
An advance registration fee of $160 will secure entry to the two-day event. Groups are eligible for discounts, and students may register for $50.
