Tacoma pickle packer picks new name: Mrs. Pickles Gourmet
Don’t go thinking you’ll be buying a few jars of Lynnae’s Gourmet Pickles to add to your Christmas gift basket of Tacoma-made delicacies.
It’s not because the parent company won’t be making pickles, but rather that the company is changing its brand.
Introducing: “Mrs. Pickles Gourmet.”
While namesake and company founder Lynnae Schneller has moved on to head Tacoma’s Chik-fil-A outlet, company President Aly Cullinane said Friday that Mrs. Pickles would add new flavors to the line while redesigning the brand packaging.
The change, she said, is due in part because “Lynnae” is hard to spell and therefore relatively ineffective as an online search term.
Also, she said, “Over the past four years we’ve focused on the flavors. With the branding, people recognize the flavors. We were already planning on changing the name.”
