Downtown Tacoma’s holiday ice rink will open Nov. 21, the Tacoma Art Museum announced Wednesday.

This season will be the fifth year in a row for an open-air ice skating rink at Tollefson Plaza. The art museum led the effort to bring the rink, and now it has operating partners in CHI Franciscan Health and Metro Parks Tacoma.

The rink will be open through Jan. 10 and feature special events throughout, including bands and broomball. Tickets are $8, with discounts for seniors, military members and children. Skate rental is $2. Many evenings, the rink will be open until 10 p.m.

All ages can skate, according to a news release. Inexperienced skaters can choose double-bladed skates or a walker to use for stability.

Go to polarplaza.com for a full list of events, hours of operation and ticket details.
