Tacoma pickle-jar hunt returns Saturday
It’s time once again to hunt for pickles, what with National Pickle Day arriving Saturday.
Mrs. Pickles Gourmet, formerly known as Lynnae’s Gourmet Pickles, will host its annual citywide pickle hunt 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in celebration.
A total of eight jars of pickles will be placed in local businesses throughout the city for pickle-pursuers to find. Each jar will be worth $200-$500 in cash and prizes from local businesses, and a small prize also will be given to the second person to arrive at each location, the company said in a release this week.
Tacoma’s Mayor Marilyn Strickland will announce the first clue location, which will be posted on the Mrs. Pickles’ Facebook and Twitter page. Further clues will be posted every 45 minutes until 2:45 p.m.
South Sound participants include, among others, Tacoma Children’s Museum, Rainier Connect, Courtyard by Marriott, Tacoma Rainiers, El Toro, Tower Lanes, Little Caesar’s NW, Life Center Tacoma, NW Prospects Academy, Libertine Tacoma, Giraffe, Whole Foods, Creative Forces Gifts & Sundries, Wild Child Salon, Chick-fil-A Tacoma, Thyme Well Spent Catering, The Table, Marrow, Angie D Photography, Christine’s Aprons, Mom & Me Aprons, Letters by Linds, Innovative Fitness, Ice Chips, Westgate Physical Therapy, Stacks, Off the Cuff Designs, Megan Hanby Hair, Hello Cupcake, Frog n Kiwi Cafe, Tacoma Pet Pro, Gibson’s Frozen Yogurt.
