Webinar: Are you ready for paid sick leave?

Paid sick leave comes to Tacoma in February, which well describes an hourlong webinar entitled “Are You Ready? Tacoma Paid Sick Leave Starts February 2016” scheduled for Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.

The webinar will be led by Seattle attorneys Catharine Morisset and Rochelle Nelson with the firm Fisher & Phillips.

Tacoma has joined Seattle and SeaTac to enact its own mandatory paid sick and safe leave law for all employers with any employees working within its city limits, the firm said in a release this week.

“Unfortunately, one size does not fit all. Tacoma’s law has its own use, carryover, accrual and notice requirements, along with its own compliance pitfalls for the unprepared employer,” the firm stated.

The webinar is free and will review key provisions of the law to assist employers in developing measures for compliance.
