Hiring fair: Sleep Train seeking drivers, warehouse workers

Truck drivers and warehouse workers looking for work take note: Sleep Train is hiring (and Goodwill is helping).

On March 15, Sleep Train will conduct a “hiring event” in Tacoma as it searches for 15 drivers and warehouse associates to work at the company’s Kent facility.

The event will take place at Goodwill’s Milgard Work Opportunity Center, 714 S. 27th St. in Tacoma. Interviews are being scheduled between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and attendees will have an opportunity to meet hiring authorities, learn about the company, submit applications and perhaps be part of on-the-spot interviews. To schedule an interview, contact Anita Singletary at 253-573-6814 or anitas@goodwillwa.org.

Driver positions start at $14 per hour and require a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, a flexible schedule and the ability to do some heavy lifting, according to a release this week. Warehouse associates begin at $13 per hour and require heavy lifting, strong customer service skills and high energy.

Goodwill offers free help with writing resumes, interviewing and completing applications at their Tacoma Job Resource Room, also at the Milgard Work Opportunity Center. The Job Resource Room is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
