▪  John Alvarez has been named merchant card services relationship manager for Columbia Bank on Tacoma. He will be responsible for business development by partnering and building relationships with retail branches in the Portland and Willamette Valley markets and work with business banking, commercial, private, professional and wealth, treasury management and mortgage clients.

Alvarez has 15 years of experience and received a bachelor’s degree from the National University of Mexico. Previously he served as executive director of Ladera Ranch Chamber of Commerce.

▪  Novinium, a telecommunications contractor in Kent, has named Mike Woodmansee as vice president of Western operations. He will lead operations for a dispersed skilled trades workforce in the Western region of North America with responsibility for profit and loss, financial management and operational optimization for the region. Woodmansee has more than 30 years of industry experience in leadership, most recently as CFO at Horizon Solar Power in California and Snelson Companies Inc. in Washington.

▪  Melissa Cournyer with Bankers Life Insurance in University Place has been named among the top agents for the national life and health insurance brand. She ranked second in sales performance in 2015 out of 5,000 agents across the country. Cournyer is a certified financial advisor and has worked in the Tacoma area since 2005.

▪ Mike Brown, owner of eight Domino’s Pizza franchises in the Tacoma area, was awarded the International Franchise Association Gold Franny Award for operational excellence. The award is based on key factors including operational audit scores, community involvement, store safety and security and team member morale.
