Tacoma, don’t call it the Wells Fargo tower anymore

Originally the Washington Plaza Building and most recently the Wells Fargo tower, Tacoma’s largest unified collection of Class A office space is changing its name once again.

From now on, call it “1201 Pacific.”

That’s the name — and the address.

Wells Fargo has relinquished its naming rights to the 21-story building, said Kris Letellier, property administrator for building owner Unico Properties of Seattle. She said customers kept coming in looking to conduct their banking business, although the commercial banking branch had long ago moved a few blocks north.

An ongoing refurbishment of the plaza area should be complete by late October, she said.
