Home price increase in area outpaces all but Colorado
Home prices are up and headed higher, according to the property analytics service CoreLogic.
In the Tacoma-Lakewood area, home prices increased 10.4 percent in February compared with the same month a year ago.
Nationwide, all states reported an increase in home prices for the year, while Washington recorded the greatest increase at 12.4 percent. The average increase nationwide was 6.8 percent, CoreLogic said.
The increase in the Tacoma-Lakewood area was higher than noted in all other regions but Colorado, which saw an increase of 10.5 percent.
The nationwide trend will continue, the service stated. “The CoreLogic forecast indicates that home prices will increase 5.2 percent on a year-over-year basis from February 2016 to February 2O17.”
