Twelve new coronavirus cases for Pierce County; total now at 138

Twelve new confirmed coronavirus cases were reported in Pierce County on Tuesday.

There are now 138 positive cases with one death out of 2,627 tested in the county since the outbreak started.

Statewide totals as of Monday afternoon listed 2,221 positive cases out of 33,933 tested, and 110 deaths.

Tuesday case numbers and Pierce County location with Monday’s totals in parentheses:

Bonney Lake: 4 (no change)

East Pierce County: 5 (4)

Gig Harbor area: 12 (no change)

Lakewood: 9 (no change)

North Pierce County: 5 (no change)

Northeast Pierce County: 3 (no change)

Puyallup: 25 (24)

South Pierce County: 11 (10)

Tacoma: 56 (47)

University Place: 8 (no change)

The new cases come one day after Washington Gov. Jay Inslee issued a new “stay-at-home” order to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.
