Watch: Gov. Jay Inslee spoke Thursday on long-term care and farm workers

Gov. Jay Inslee had a press conference at 2:30 p.m. Thursday to give an update on the state’s long-term care testing plan and farm worker protections.

Vice President Mike Pence and Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House coordinator for the virus response, have recommended that every nursing home resident and staff member in the nation be tested for COVID-19. Pence and Birx issued the recommendation during a May 11 phone call with governors.

At an April 29 press conference, Inslee said the governor’s office was trying to reduce the “inequities” of the new coronavirus by setting standards for agricultural workers that include hygiene and testing.
