Pierce County reports fewer than 100 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday
Pierce County reported 70 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and one additional death.
The latest death involved a Tacoma woman in her 30s with underlying health conditions.
County totals are now 10,510 confirmed cases and 195 deaths since the first case in the coronavirus pandemic was recorded March 6.
The county has seen a recent streak of 100 or more cases on multiple days.
The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department has reported 1,297 cases in the past 14 days. The 14-day case rate per 100,000 people is 143.8. Average cases per day over the past 14 days are 92.6.
With a six-day data lag required in the state’s Safe Start measurements, the county’s case rate per 100,000 is 134.
There are an estimated 2,293 still-active cases in the county.
