Pierce County reports 302 new COVID-19 cases, three deaths on Saturday
Pierce County reported 302 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday and three additional deaths.
The deaths included three women from Puyallup; one in her 60s, one in her 70s and one in her 90s.
County totals are now 12,641 confirmed cases and 211 deaths since the first case in the coronavirus pandemic was recorded March 6.
The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department has reported 2,372 cases in the past 14 days. The 14-day case rate per 100,000 people is 263. Average cases per day over the past 14 days are 169.4.
With a six-day data lag required in the state’s Safe Start measurements, the county’s case rate per 100,000 is 184.1.
There are an estimated 3,631 still-active cases in the county.
According to the health department on Friday:
▪ Those under 20 make up 12.4 percent of the total number of cases and 15.5 percent of cases in the past two weeks.
▪ The 20-39 age group comprise the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 40.9 percent of total cases in the past two weeks.
