3 children, 1 adult killed in fiery Auburn wreck, police say

Three children and the man driving them were killed Thursday evening in a fiery one-car crash in Auburn, police say.

A 3-year-old girl was critically injured and was in the hospital Fridaiy.

The crash happened about 5:20 p.m. at 17th Street Southeast and R Street Southeast, police spokesman Mark Caillier wrote in a news release.

Officers arrived to find the vehicle on fire. The three children — a 5-month-old, 4-year-old and a 7-year old — died at the scene, police said.

The 32-year-old driver and the 3-year-old girl were seriously injured and were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The man later died there.

The identities are unknown.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
