Woman who fell on tracks killed after being hit by train, police say
A woman trying to get back on her feet after falling on railroad tracks in Kent was hit and killed by a train Saturday evening, police said.
The 55-year-old woman was struck by a BNSF Railways train about 7:20 p.m. at the James Street railroad crossing in downtown, police spokesman Jarod Kasner said. The woman died at the scene.
Witnesses told police the woman was walking across the train tracks when she slipped and fell. She was trying to get back up when the train hit her.
The investigation into the woman's death is ongoing.
