Man who drowned in Alder Lake is identified
A man who drowned Saturday in Alder Lake has been identified as 33-year-old Isaiah Jones of Kent.
He was lounging on an inflatable chair outside of the buoys when he slipped and fell into the water about 5 p.m., according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
He tried swimming to shore but did not make it.
Officials said Jones was not wearing a life jacket and was east of the swimming area when he went into the water.
Sheriff’s divers responded but were not immediately able to find him.
His body was found Sunday in about 30 feet of water.
