Teen who drowned in Spanaway Lake is identified
A 13-year-old boy who drowned in Spanaway Lake last weekend has been identified as Olanrenwaju Wuraola.
The Tacoma boy went to the lake with his church group Sunday, officials said.
He was in the swimming area about 3:30 p.m. when he dived to retrieve a toy and did not resurface.
Pierce County sheriff’s divers found the boy a half hour later.
Wuraola was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
