Federal Way police searching for missing autistic boy
An autistic Federal Way boy went missing Thursday morning after not taking his bus to school, police said.
Donovan Fitcher, 10, was last seen about 10:45 a.m. leaving the Twin Lakes Grocery on his yellow Transformers bike, heading eastbound on Southwest 320th Street, police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said in an email.
Donovan, who is 4-foot-7 and 60 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, was wearing a dark hoodie at the time.
A boy matching Donovan’s description was seen about noon at Dash Point State Park, Schrock added.
Donovan missed his 8 a.m. bus to school in Redmond, and his father began looking for him then, contacting police just before 1 p.m., Schrock said.
The boy, who is high-functioning, has gone missing before, often turning up at area schools and parks, Schrock said, but he has never been missing this long before.
Police and family members are continuing to search the area for Donovan, Schrock said.
Anyone with information on Donovan’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
