Pedestrian was hit, killed by car on SR 16 in Tacoma
A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on state Route 16 early Friday, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers said they have not figured out how the 35-year-old University Place man ended up on the freeway.
He was struck about 1 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near South 19th Street.
The driver who hit him remained on scene and cooperated with troopers.
All lanes were closed for the investigation and reopened around 4 a.m.
Officials have not identified the man who died.
