Tacoma Striezelmarkt returns for holiday shopping on Small Business Saturday
Heres’s another shopping option for you during Small Business Saturday.
The third annual Tacoma Striezelmarkt put on by La Paloma Market Place will run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at Slavonian American Benevolent Society’s Slavonian Hall, 2306 N. 30th St. in Tacoma’s Old Town district.
The free event includes holiday crafts, local vendors, Christmas caroling, food, including German pretzels and gingerbread, a dance and gingerbread house competition among local businesses.
Jillian Fried, who is assisting with the event, told The News Tribune that 5,000 attended last year’s market, and even more are expected to attend this year.
Proceeds from a “highly curated” raffle at the event will be donated to assist the local homeless population, according to Fried.
“All proceeds are going directly to homeless in forms of hotel vouchers, cash gift cards, food, etc.,” she told The News Tribune on Wednesday.
For more information, go to the event’s calendar listing on Facebook.
