Fantasy Lights offers new displays in its 25th year. You can see it all from your car

This holiday season marks a milestone for Spanaway Park’s Fantasy Lights. The annual light show turns 25 years old.

The drive-thru experience opens Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. It’s the largest car-based holiday lights show in the Pacific Northwest, organizers said.

As Zoolights visitors are bundling up at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Fantasy Lights fans can see over 300 animated displays from the comfort of their own vehicles at Spanaway Park.

The show, which uses thousands of lights, runs daily through Jan. 1.

The two-mile route winds around Spanaway Lake and includes bears flying kites, Santa and Rudolf sailing a ship, snow boys kicking field goals, penguins sliding down an igloo and leaping reindeer.

Organizers said new displays scattered through the park include a rocket ship, octopus, sea turtles and giant clam

Last year, 193,756 people visited Fantasy Lights in 29,770 vehicles.
