Pierce County woman killed in crash Friday night northwest of Lakebay has been identified
A Pierce County woman who died at the scene of a two-car crash Friday night northwest of Lakebay has been identified, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The woman, Melissa S. Carbone-Owens, 48, of Lakebay, was headed east Friday night on state Route 302 at 194th Avenue. Those streets are near Case Inlet.
Troopers say the woman drove into oncoming traffic about 7:45 p.m. and crashed head-on into a 44-year-old Allyn woman. The Allyn woman was injured and taken to Tacoma General Hospital.
Carbone-Owens’ death was confirmed Sunday by the Pierce County Medical Examiner.
