Tacoma offering free sandbag supplies as heavy rains cause localized flooding
The City of Tacoma is offering free sandbag supplies for personal use.
Heavy rains forecast to continue through Saturday are causing localized flooding across the region.
“While supplies last, community members can come to one of two locations to shovel and load their own sandbags,” according to the city’s website.
Those locations are:
▪ Tacoma Asphalt Plant, 3010 Center St; 253-591-5495.
▪ Central Wastewater Treatment Plant, 2201 Portland Ave. E., Gate 3; 253-502-2150.
Both locations are open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
