10 injured in Key Peninsula crash on Christmas night

Ten people were injured in a 4-car crash while driving on Key Peninsula on Christmas night, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision occurred just after 8 p.m. on state Route 302 on the Purdy Sand Spit.

Troopers are trying to determine what caused the crash, but said 10 people reported injuries. Nine of them were taken to area hospitals. None of the injuries was considered life-threatening. The most seriously injured person suffered a broken leg, said a trooper on the scene.

Route 302 was closed for about two hours during the investigation.
