A pedestrian crossing Pacific Highway is hit and killed by a car in Milton

A woman crossing Pacific Highway East in Milton was hit and killed by a car Friday night, according to police.

The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. in the 7900 of Pacific Highway East, according to Milton police Sgt. Nils Luckman.

Luckman said officers arrived immediately after the accident. The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was unresponsive.

The victim was crossing at Pacific Highway from east to west and was struck in the northbound lanes.

The driver stayed on the scene and did not display signs of impairment, Luckman said.

The nearest crosswalk to the scene is at Porter Way.
