4 injured in apartment building fire in Tacoma

Four people were injured Tuesday morning in a fire at a Tacoma apartment building, according to the Fire Department.

Crews were called about 7 a.m. to the Swan Creek apartments near East 56th Street and East Swan Creek Drive and found heavy smoke and flames showing from the building.

After firefighters doused the flames, four residents were taken to area hospitals to be treated.

The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Investigators are trying to determine what started the fire, and said two units on the second floor sustained the heaviest damage.
