Man ejected from vehicle during crash in Puyallup early Sunday

A 21-year-old man was ejected from his vehicle when it struck a tree in Puyallup early Sunday morning, according to police.

About 2:50 a.m. Sunday, police, citing witnesses, say the man’s vehicle was headed north at a high speed in the 3500 block of Ninth Street Southwest. The vehicle hit a tree, then rolled and landed on its wheels again.

Puyallup police say the man was found about 20 yards from his vehicle. He was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma with injuries that were considered life-threatening, according to police.

The passenger in the vehicle, also 21, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup with injuries that were not considered as serious.

Police also said it “appears that alcohol was a factor in the collision.”
