Rock slide closes southbound Schuster Parkway in Tacoma
UPDATE 2:50 p.m. Saturday: The rock slide has been cleared off the roadway and all lanes of Schuster Parkway are open, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

A rock slide Saturday morning has shut down the southbound lanes of Schuster Parkway in Tacoma.
The slide occurred just before 10 a.m. below North 7th Street and south of the two moored military transport ships.
City crews are on scene and assessing the situation, Tacoma police spokeswoman Wendy Haddow said.
A photo showed dozens of rocks, some several feet wide, covering the sidewalk and spilling into the travel lanes of the road.
Southbound Schuster Parkway is closed in Old Town at North 30th Street and Starr Street. Southbound Ruston way is closed at McCarver Street.
