Tool brings tour to Tacoma Dome

Metal band Tool will stop in Tacoma during its springtime tour.

They will play May 29 at the Tacoma Dome, with The Acid Helps opening.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com. No tickets will be sold at the Tacoma Dome’s box office.

Tool’s latest album, “Fear Inoculum,” was released Aug. 30 and debuted No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200.

It was the band’s only album in 13 years.

They recently won a Grammy award for Best Metal Performance for the song “7empest,” making it their fifth Grammy.

Tool formed in 1990 and its members are drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, vocalist Maynard James Keenan and bassist Justin Chancellor.
