Tacoma woman dies after vehicle rolls on southbound I-5 in Pierce County

A Tacoma woman died Saturday night after her vehicle rolled on southbound I-5 near the Puyallup River Bridge, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The 44-year-old woman died at the scene.

About 10:20 p.m. Saturday, the woman was headed south on I-5. Troopers say the woman lost control of her vehicle just north of the bridge, struck the barrier and rolled.

Troopers suspect that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

After the crash, southbound I-5 was closed for more than three hours, according to the State Patrol.
