Tacoma Jazz Walk postponed due to coronavirus concerns. Refunds in the works
The 2020 Tacoma Jazz Walk will be postponed to a later date amid coronavirus concerns.
The event scheduled for Saturday is canceled in response to the recommendations of national, state and county public health officials, Jazz Clubs Northwest said in a statement on Thursday.
“Effective immediately, we are suspending ticket sales and will begin processing complete refunds of all pre-purchased tickets,” Jazz Clubs NW posted at tacomajazzwalk.com. “If you are a ticket holder, you will receive a separate email confirming a refund to the credit card used for your purchase.”
The annual event started in 2016 and draws hundreds to businesses in Tacoma for a night of local jazz group performances. Leaders took last year off to restructure the event.
The event will be rescheduled to a later date once concerns over public gatherings have subsided, according to Jazz Clubs NW.
Also canceled is an event on Saturday announcing the construction of a new, free public climbing boulder in Swan Creek Park on Tacoma’s Eastside. The event was going to be held at Edgeworks Climbing Gym in Tacoma, featuring The North Face and Trust for Public Lands.
The event was canceled “for coronavirus travel restrictions,” according to planners for the event, but will be rescheduled in the future.
